Feeling anxious about coronavirus?

All the news about corona virus circulating, telling us to stay home and distance ourselves, can be a little frightening. If you find yourself feeling anxious in these stressful times, we’ve got some tips on how to calm your nerves and stay grounded.

1. Focus on Hygge.

Hygge is the Danish and Norwegian word for all things cozy and comfortable! It’s all about personal connection too. Think dim candle light, home cooked meals, and family game night. These are all wonderfully easy things to incorporate with everyone staying home these days. Warm dinners and card games are a great way to connect with our families, which are often times neglected among the hustle and bustle of work and errands. Want to read more on the topic? Check out this book we sell all about it!

2. Connect with family & friends (from a distance)

Now is the perfect time to reconnect with friends. Send a text to remind someone you’re thinking of them and miss them. Video chat online if they’re at a distance using FaceTime or Skype, both of which are free to use. That way, you’ll be getting your daily dose of connection even if you have to stay home.

3. Self-care day

The best way to cure anxiety is to focus on yourself and what you’re feeling! Do a body scan and ask yourself where you’re feeling anxious, and see if there’s anything you can do about it. Maybe a warm bath with Epsom salt or detoxifying tea - check out our bath products here. Do some journaling where you write down all your fears, then contract those thoughts with things you’re grateful for. Fidgety? Grab one of our palm stones to fiddle with. Cook yourself a warm meal, fill the air with scents like lavender that calm you.

We’ll get through this together! Right now is the perfect opportunity to better our homes, ourselves, and our familial relationships.
